Two Trucks were involved in the Tuesday, August 10, 2015 truck accident approximately 150 miles west of Omaha NE. The disabled truck was on the shoulder being serviced. Joseph A. Womack of Indiana was westbound and struck the big rig that was parked on the shoulder for service. The parked truck was pushed into the service vehicle.

The truck was being serviced by Brandon Salisbury of Stromsburg Nebraska. Salisbury was struck in the face by a tire jack and suffered a laceration. Both of the commercial motor vehicle drivers walked away from the scene with minor injuries.

According to the report, a pickup truck traveling beside Womack's truck prevented Womack from moving left to avoid the collision.

The Nebraska State Patrol reported the accident happened on westbound Interstate 80 and closed a stretch of the Interstate for several hours. Womack's truck was hauling an oversized load in the form of a jet engine at the time of the wreck.

According to the Nebraska State Patrol the truck on the shoulder was a 2014 International and the moving truck was a 2013 Peterbilt.

I-80 was closed while debris and 100 gallons of diesel fuel from the Peterbilt truck were cleaned up.

The Nebraska State Patrol, Shelton and Wood River NE emergency crews responded to the truck crash.

The NSP is investigating the accident.
