California Builds Cyber Response Vehicle to Analyze Digital Evidence At Crime Scenes.
California Attorney General Kamala Harris Announces California Cyber Crime Center (C4).
California is getting serious about Cyber Crime and Digital Forensics Investigations. The announcement was made in Fresno California by the Office of Attorney General Kamala Harris at the California State University - Fresno. In a statement, Harris said: “Criminals are operating online with alarming sophistication, committing identity theft, hacking, cyber exploitation and other crimes that involve technology, and law enforcement must stay one step ahead.”
The Cyber Crime Center will provide services to law enforcement throughout the state of California. The Attorney General's office also said it has developed Digital Forensics Training including Computer Forensics and Cell Phone Forensics, which it intends to offer to local California Law Enforcement Agencies. The topics will include: Search Warrants, Collection, Extraction and Analysis of Digital Evidence.
Fresno California, where Cyber Crime Center is Located is approximately 190 miles from San Francisco, 220 miles from Los Angeles and 170 miles from Sacramento CA. This makes the location central to most of California's major metropolitan areas.
