Weight May Be Cause of Truck Accident

West Monroe, Louisiana - Truck Accident

An 18 wheeler commercial truck broke in half right near the Stella Mills exit in West Monroe, Louisiana.

Detective Ray Spoon with the West Monroe Police Department tells KNOE 8 News that the truck was carrying too much weight, but the trucking company, Pardue Trucking, disputes the claim and says the truck was not overloaded.

Pardue Trucking says the company that loaded the truck, loaded too much at the front end of the truck, closest to the cab.

The cause of this incident is under investigation. No one was injured in the incident.

There was a period of time where the road was partially road blocked, but police handled traffic, directing drivers off of Stella Mills and back onto I-20.

Pardue Trucking is based in North Wilkesboro, NC. West Monroe LA is approximately 98 miles east of Shreveport Louisiana and 122 miles west of Jackson Mississippi.
