The Silicon Valley Regional Computer Forensics Lab - Menlo Park CA.

The FBI's Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory in Silicon Valley is Located in the Menlo Corporate Center in Menlo Park California.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) supports local law enforcement agencies by providing a shared facility in which digital forensics investigations can be conducted.

The Regional Computer Forensics Labs, like the facility in Menlo Park CA provide a complete forensics laboratory as well as a computer forensics training center. These computer forensics labs are devoted entirely to the examination of computer, cell phone and other digital evidence in support of criminal investigations. Types of investigations include:

The FBI's Regional Computer Forensics Labs combine law enforcement officers from Federal, State and Local agencies. Most of the regional facilities employ around 15 people. Of the 15 employees at each lab, 12 are investigators and 3 are support staff. Duties of the electronic evidence forensics investigators include:

  • Seizing and collecting electronic evidence at a crime scene
  • Conducting an impartial examination of submitted digital evidence
  • Testifying in court as required.
