Massachusetts state police are investigating an accident involving a department cruiser and a honda civic. According to a press release, the accident occurred on Route 138 where police were responding to a reported truck burglary.
Witness reports that the civic turned into the same lane as the police cruiser, resulting in a head-on collision. The accident is still under investigation. Chief McNeil stated that the speed, flashing lights and siren activation was unknown at the time. The police cruiser's black box may contain data related to the accident that may reveal more details during the accident investigation.
