Computer Forensics Employee Indicted


A Federal Government Computer Forensics Employee Has Been Indicted in - Kansas City, MO.

The employee performed computer forensics services at the Heart of America Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory.

Medical Debt owed to Heartland Regional Medical Center, located in Marion, Illinois, drove Byron Gorman to commit fraud.

According to the indictment Gorman used money order receipts he stole while executing a search warrant on a business in Kansas City Kansas. He attempted to pass off the receipts as proof he had paid the Marion IL medical center. Gorman was allegedly bold enough to use the money order receipts to file his own lawsuit against Heartland and other creditors in an attempt to defraud them further. Gorman also submitted evidence which included allegedly forged documents displaying the name and fake signature of U.S. Postal Service employees as well as a Federal Trade Commission attorney.

Gorman has been indicted on one count of mail fraud, two counts of wire fraud and three counts of aggravated identity theft. He potentially faces a penalty of 66 years in prison, a $1.5 million fine and an order of restitution for $18,000.

Gorman lives in St Joseph City Missouri is approximately 55 miles north of Kansas City MO.
